The city generates 165.96 metric tons of waste daily, with 43% biodegradable, 55% dry/recyclable and 2% inert. Currently, 130 metric tons are collected and transported to Lamdeng daily, with 30 metric tons undergoing aerobic composting. However, a significant legacy waste issue exists, with approximately 3 lakh metric tons accumulated at one dump site. Improving waste collection, increasing recycling, and addressing legacy waste are crucial for effective waste management.
