Manipur State Museum

The State Museum of Manipur in Imphal stands as a cultural foundation, dedicated to preserving and exhibiting the rich heritage of the state. Established in 1969, the museum houses a diverse collection of artifacts including archaeology, ethnology, and natural history, offering a glimpse into the life and history of the Manipuri people. Its galleries feature traditional costumes, ancient weaponry, tribal ornaments, agricultural implements, and historical documents, with the impressive 78-foot-long royal boat, "Hiyang Hiren," being a major highlight displayed in the open gallery.

Sekta Archaeological Living Museum

Sekta Archaeological Living Museum locally known as Sekta Kei is a protected archaeological site. The site is located in Sekta village in Imphal East district. It is a place where evidence of the practice of secondary burial was discovered. The site was jointly excavated by the Archaeological Survey of India and the State Archaeologists.
